Baan Unrak recently welcomed 17 medical students from Australia for an enriching week of activities and knowledge-sharing with our children, caregivers, and staff.
The medical students brought both knowledge and care to Baan Unrak. They conducted hands-on first aid seminars, teaching children how to clean wounds, apply antiseptic, and securely bandage injuries. These lessons instilled confidence in the children to handle small injuries.
In addition, they presented engaging dental care classes that focused on proper brushing techniques and the importance of oral hygiene in maintaining healthy teeth.
They also introduced age-appropriate lessons on sexual education, fostering awareness and understanding in a respectful and supportive manner, while educating the children about the dangers of drug use and its harmful effects on health and well-being.
The medical students further implemented a complete health screening program for everyone at Baan Unrak, including the children, caregivers, and staff. This project guaranteed that everyone's general health was evaluated, providing useful information about their well-being. The students also provided tailored advice and care based on their results.
These important lessons not only provided children with essential life skills but also improved their overall well-being and self-confidence.
We are deeply grateful to the medical students for their time, generosity, and the helpful activities they arranged. Their visit improved our children's lives and brought knowledge, care, and joy to our community.
Their enthusiasm and kindness embody the giving heart, and we are grateful to have had their help. Thank you for being a part of our story and giving joy to Baan Unrak.
The week wasn't just about learning but also about making meaningful connections through shared experiences. The children and students enjoyed playing games and sports together,
swimming in the river, sharing smiles, and having fun. It was a wonderful way for everyone to bond and create happy memories.
The students made the week beneficial and enjoyable by teaching first aid and raising health awareness, as well as presenting fun and engaging activities. The children learned valuable skills, including general health practices, while also having fun with games, sports, and quality time by the river. We are forever grateful to them.
