Thank you to all who have been moved to help. The situation in Myanmar remains extremely challenging for many families, but your support is truly making a difference. We are deeply grateful for the contributions from individuals and partner institutions—your kindness fuels our mission and gives hope where it is most needed.
In Myanmar, Baan Unrak will carry out its humanitarian activities under the name of AMURT or AMURTEL, working in collaboration with local communities and organizations to ensure that aid reaches those most affected. We remain committed to bringing relief, care, and solidarity to those who are suffering, and your continued support empowers us to do so.
After two days of challenging overland travel and much sacrifice, our staff member Heng arrived in Yangon by bus—the most practical option given the logistical constraints. From there, in collaboration with the Heavenly Grace Ministry of Yangon, he rented a car to reach Kalaw Village, where devastation is severe: 9 lives have been lost and 160 out of 165 houses destroyed. We also visited 5 other villages, Inn Yamelthin, Ti Gon, Inn Lay city, Halya village and Kandaw village where we found a similar situation.
With the help of a dedicated monk who leads community service efforts in Kalaw Village, we distributed essential supplies from AMURTEL. The monk also helped coordinate financial aid for 45 families in urgent need. Additionally, the Heavenly Grace Ministry of Yangon and the Yamethin Church provided essential supplies and financial assistance to another 75 families.

In two photos, what the Temple looked like and how it was after the earthquake.
Meanwhile, the Green Island team, led by Cirasmita in Yangon has mobilized many people in her neighborhood to prepare long-lasting food such as dried or fried traditional Myanmar delicacies. Together, they are preparing 1,000 food packages to be delivered to the earthquake affected areas.
She has inspired people to bring their own ingredients and cook in groups, often continuing late into the night. The community has generously donated their own resources, and now that their funds are running low, AMURTEL will help by providing ingredients, while the neighbors continue to offer their time and labor.
They will go to Kyauktar Village in Sagaing to assist 276 households and to a small suburb of Mandalay to assist 30 households . The Green Island team took the responsibility to distribute 6kg packages of rice to all those 306 families on behalf of AMURTEL.
The road to recovery is long, but together, we can bring hope and healing. If you’d like to contribute, please visit [link in bio]. Every bit of support counts.
